Many clients are interested in the pendants and subtle energy devices to ease symptoms they are experiencing related to electromagnetic fields (EMF).
Subtle energy devices such as harmonizers, pendants and chips claim and intend to interfere with the reaction of a person to man-made EMF. They do not alter readings on meters measuring electric, magnetic or radiofrequency fields, as many think.
One concern with using these devices is that if they are used as a substitute for reducing extreme elevations in electromagnetic fields in the environment, they provide a false sense of safety and leave people open to harm and damage from elevated electromagnetic fields.
A position paper by the International Institute for Building Biology & Ecology states,
“such devices, if they work, seem to elicit different responses from different people. Some people seem to be helped, some are not helped. The reasons for this are unknown. However, since some people are helped by some devices, we support their use under certain conditions.”
The conditions for use include not using subtle energy devices as a primary or sole means of protection. They could be used as supplemental protection against electromagnetic radiation at times when it absolutely cannot be avoided. It is highly recommended that if you are going to use subtle energy devices, use them as an adjunct to other electromagnetic elimination and protection strategies in work and living spaces. It is very important to implement strategies to eliminate and reduce exposures to electromagnetic radiation in spaces that you control, including hard wiring connections and maintaining distance from sources of pollution.
IBE aptly states,
“Please don’t assume that with subtle energy devices you are fully protected. There is no research showing long-term efficacy. However, we know there is long-term efficacy when man-made radiation is eliminated or drastically reduced.”
It is particulary important to evaluate and reduce electromagnetic fields (including electric, magnetic and radiofrequency fields), where you sleep and to evaluate the home environment, where you exercise more control over your environment.
